TOUR DETAILS

The meeting point is James Fox Cigar & Whiskey Shop at 119 Grafton Street. The shop is in a very central location, just across the road from the front gates of Trinity College. Your friendly whiskey expert Host is here to meet you and check you in for the tour and you have time to browse through the vast stocks of whiskeys while we wait for all guests to arrive.

1st Stop – The Irish Whiskey Museum

No better fitting introduction to Irish Whiskey. Enjoy the captivating anecdotes of talented storytellers as they take you on a journey through the ages revealing the origins of Irish whiskey, its rise to glory, dramatic downfall and current global revival. Tasting of 3 quintessential Irish whiskeys included at the end of the tour, in the bar.

2nd Stop – Jameson Irish Whiskey

Right after your 1st stop, you will board the luxury transport which is stationed not far from the museum and we travel along the River Liffey to SmithfieldJohn Jameson started distilling his famous whiskey here in 1780 and today, the Jameson visitor centre in the old distillery buildings is one of the most popular attractions in the city. Rather than taking the tour here at Jameson’s we have arranged a very special whiskey tasting for guests – the cask draws experience in the new live maturation warehouse – not to be missed.
You will have time to shop at Jameson’s before we head back over the river to the south of the city

3rd Stop – The Liberties

You’ll then visit an old neighbourhood of Dublin, the Liberties, which once housed 32 of Dublin’s 37 working distilleries in the 19th century. All 32 distilleries disappeared at some point in the 20th century, but now – they’ve started to return!

By Summer 2019, four operational distilleries will be making whiskey again in the Liberties.

From Summer

Roe & Co Distillery will be a permanent fixture on our Dublin Whiskey Story, but until then we take you to one of the other three distilleries for a glance at their distillery floor and a tasting of their goods along the way!

Final Stop – Celtic Whiskey Shop

The Celtic Whiskey Shop for a tasting of two premium Irish whiskeys with one of the store’s whiskey ambassadors. Then you’re free to browse their stocks and maybe buy the whiskeys you liked on tour!
