GIANT’S CAUSEWAY

The Giant’s Causeway is one of the most interesting natural formations in the world. Formed over 50 million years ago the causeway’s hexagon columns have been attracting tourists since the 19th century.

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1986, the Giant’s Causeway’s 40,000 interlocking Basalt columns were created by massive volcanic activity. The Causeway in one of Ireland’s top natural attractions with over 750,000 visitor per year. The unique natural formations of the causeway will leave your spellbound.

 

CARRICK-A-REDE ROPE BRIDGE

Cross the Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge, for stunning views of Rathlin Island and distant Scotland. The 20 meters (66 feet) bridge stretches from the main land to the small island of Carrickarede and dangles 30 meters (100 feet) over the rocks below.

It’s not recommended for the faint hearted, but the scenic views make it a worthwhile adventure. Fans of the popular TV Series will recognise Carrick-A-Rede as Storm’s End, the ancestral seat of House Baratheon. Admission to cross the Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge is included with your day tour from Dublin.

 

BELFAST CITY – Political Taxi Tour Option

Belfast city’s troubled past has now given birth to a huge tourism industry. During your time here you will be taken on a fascinating tour which includes the Republican museum, ( Tues-Sat ), the Peace Wall and the world famous East and West Belfast murals. You will also be taken to the  birthplace of HMS Titanic, after which you will have some free time around the city.

6:30: DEPART DUBLIN

Meet your Guide and fellow travellers for the Giants causeway & Belfast city tour at the Molly Malone Statue on Suffolk street. Board our comfortable bus and head North out of the City. Enjoy the drive to Northern Ireland with your guide providing entertainment and knowledge in equal measure

 

10:45: CARRICK-A-REDE ROPE BRIDGE

The Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge was originally erected by salmon fishermen and has been in use for 350 years.It is now a tourist attraction operated by the National trust. Take a 20 minute scenic walk before crossing the bridge suspended 30 meters above a ravine. Enjoy spectacular views from Carrick-a-rede island before recrossing the bridge and continuing on the Giants causeway tour.

 

13:15: GIANT’S CAUSEWAY

On the journey to the Giants causeway there are  spectacular views over Whiteparks Bay and Portbradden. We will have lunch (not included) before tackling the legendary Causeway. Stroll up to the very peak of the cliffs so that you get a panoramic view of the causeway, then descend down to the point referred to as the “Organ”.

Alternatively, a mobility bus operates which can take you directly to the causeway for a small fee. This extraordinary natural attraction never fails to impress. Explore this fantastic natural attraction formed 50 million years ago.

 

16:00 – Belfast City with option of Black Taxi Tour (not included)
