Menarys was founded in 1923 by Cookstown Draper Joseph Alexander, the great-uncle of our current Managing Directors, Stephen and Philip McCammon. After buying over Menary Brothers in Lisburn in the 1970s, their father adopted the Menary name and all Alexander’s stores were rebranded.
Over the years our stores have become focal points in local communities both in the North and South of Ireland. Our identity as a local and independent retailer is so important to us and this characteristic permeates everything we do. We support our local communities in various ways including job creation, charity work and social development. We love providing a platform for local suppliers and we know our customers do too. Each Menary’s store has developed its personality, shaped by both our staff and their local community, and we hope those relationships continue for years to come.
